Our Beginning

In June 2019, just after my 18th birthday, I traveled to South East Asia and discovered insects as a staple food. Hesitant at first, I gave it a try, eating crickets, silkworms, I even tried a scorpion!

While studying, my passion for this idea grew, as I learn more about their potential as a sustainable, nutritious protein source. I dreamed of bringing them to the UK in an accessible form, and from that dream, Ento was born.

Our Mission

Our mission is to revolutionise protein in the UK by introducing crickets as a sustainable, nutritious alternative. While insects are widely eaten worldwide, the UK has yet to embrace them. With the rising demand for protein, traditional milk derivatives are facing increasing sustainability challenges, crickets offer a solution, requiring fewer resources and producing fewer emissions.

We’re here to lead the shift toward a more sustainable future for nutrition.

    Sustainable

Crickets require far less land, water, and feed than traditional livestock while producing significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions, making them a smarter choice for the planet.

Life Cycle

Illustration of the cricket life cycle in four stages: Mating, Eggs, Nymphs, and Adults. The Mating stage shows males chirping to attract females, who lay eggs in damp areas. The Eggs stage describes tiny eggs hidden in soft soil, hatching into nymphs in 14 days. The Nymphs stage depicts small, wingless crickets that molt 8-10 times, growing wings in a month. The Adults stage shows crickets with wings, focused on eating and mating, completing the life cycle in 2-3 months.
